iPadOS 27 at a glance
iPadOS 27 runs on 23 iPads, from the iPad (9th generation) and iPad mini (6th generation) up to the M5 iPad Pro. Five models that ran iPadOS 26 stop there: the iPad (8th generation), iPad Air (3rd generation), iPad mini (5th generation), the first 11-inch iPad Pro and the third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Our supported iPads list shows exactly where each model stands.
The current public release is iPadOS 27.0.1 (24A446), and iPadOS 27.2 beta 4 (24B5110a) is in testing. You can join the beta over the air with the steps in our iPadOS 27 beta download guide, or restore a specific build from the iPad IPSW downloads. If the beta is not working out, Apple still signs iPadOS 26.6.1 RC for iPads that run iPadOS 27, so you can downgrade with a Mac or PC.
