Frequently asked questions
Is the iOS 27 beta safe to install on my main iPhone?
It is safer on a spare device, because betas can break apps and drain the battery. If you use your main iPhone, choose the public beta and make a computer backup first. A backup made on a beta cannot be restored onto an older iOS version. If you just want iOS 27, install the public release, iOS 27.0.1, instead of a beta.
Where do I get official IPSW files?
Our IPSW download page lists the file for every iPhone, iPad and Mac, with each link pointing straight to Apple's servers and its signing status shown. Beta builds are on the iOS 27 beta IPSW page. You restore an IPSW from a Mac with Finder or a Windows PC with the Apple Devices app.
How do I remove the iOS 27 beta?
To stop receiving betas without erasing anything, set Settings › General › Software Update › Beta Updates to Off. Your iPhone moves to the next public release with a higher version number. To go back to iOS 26 now, restore iOS 26.6.1 RC (23G82), the version Apple is signing, from a computer, then restore your pre-beta backup.
What is the latest iOS 27 version?
The current public release is iOS 27.0.1 (24A446), from 28 September 2026. The newest beta is iOS 27.2 beta 4 (24B5110a), released on 13 October 2026. iOS 27 runs on iPhone 11 and later, plus iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation). You can check your own version in Settings › General › About.
